We just got home from a wonderful dinner with the Carandangs (well, those who's left here in the PH) at my uncle's home in Santo Tomas. It was my first time to visit and I was impressed and amazed because his house is filled with various mementos from places he / his family has visited. bells, replicas, fridge magnets, etc from all over the world.
I've always wanted to travel and see this planet we call home. I have quite a long list of places I'd like to see in person someday.
Anyway, what I'm trying to say here is that seeing my uncle's home and his growing collection tiny foreign things inspired me. I was reminded of the things I've always wanted to do that I've never done because I don't have the means or those that never happened simply because I hold myself back for fear of looking ridiculous. I now have a renewed determination, to really start to do things & make things happen. I promised myself that I will no longer let myself become easily discouraged or afraid. I'm really going to try this time.
No more riding with the wind, I'm going to start steering my life to places I'm intending to go.
(yes--I know, I need to stop using cliché metaphors)
