Useless Facts About Me

This is a list of Embarrassing Truths About Myself. Posting this because I'm struggling with my self-identity that concerns a few important life decisions that need to be done immediately and what better way to discover oneself than to write about it? No one would read this anyway.

  • I think in Tagalog but my internal monologues are in English.
  • Even though I speak it every day since the day I could speak, I can't write in Tagalog. I'm just not used to doing it. When I was in college, all of my papers and homework were written in English. My Filipino teachers in high school and elementary were never big on making their students write. I think I've only written about 20 sanaysays ever. And every time I try to write in Tagalog I tend to use dramatic words I don't use in normal conversations. Or I end up writing in Taglish instead (and I know for a fact that it is tacky and a sign of stupidity but I can't help it).
  • I tend to use parentheses in my blog posts and essays a lot.
  • I really want to live somewhere in the Northern Hemisphere so I can experience winter, spring, summer, and autumn. My top picks: 1) Indiana, USA - because I have family there and I really want to see them all, because most bands pass by Indianapolis or Evansville on their tours (or if not, Chicago and it's pretty close to where my cousins live) 2) Arizona, USA - as John O'Callaghan sings in their song Waiting For My Sun To Shine, oh my gorgeous Arizona. From what I've seen in pictures, Arizona is a beautiful place. It might not get snow but I can just spend a weekend on a ski resort, lol. Annnddd of course this choice is heavily influenced by the fact that a lot of the bands I like are from AZ: The Maine, The Summer Set, My Girl Friday, and The Format 3) Paris, France - who doesn't want to live in the City of Lights? I was a huge Francophile back in high school. 4) Somewhere in Canada - Aurora Borealis, enough said 5) London, England - I would love to live in a place where people speak with the Best Accent Ever, though I know I would sort of hate London because from what I've read it rains most of the time in England.
  • I don't have a specific best friend. My aunt is my confidante. I have a friend whom I trust my thoughts with, but our relationship is pretty much based on us throwing complaints about life at each other. I have a hard time letting people in. It's why I'm in this website in the first place.
  • I've never had a boyfriend. People don't believe me when I say this, especially my relatives, but it's true. It's one of the reasons that I sometimes ask myself this question: "Am I really that bad?" I've liked like liked OKAY I STILL DO, YOU WIN a few guys but... eh. Nothing happens. And no one has also said that they like me or whatever. Yep, I'm pathetic.
  • Despite my zero love life I have fictional relationships with band guys and out-of-reach celebrities, hahaha. Oh, even fictional characters too. :P
  • I love listening to music. Music is a big part of my life. However, I should also admit that I may love music but I can't read music. :( I know how to identify music notes and that's about my entire knowledge of musical theory (is that what it's called?).
  • The only musical instrument that I know how to play is the glockenspiel. And okay. Maybe not the "only" one since the glockenspiel is very similar to the xylophone...
  • I wanted to play the guitar when I was a child but my teenage angst and my pride held me back from learning how.
  • Sometimes I wish I had a cooler name. Diane is so boring and I know a lot of other Dianes.
  • I have trouble dealing with change.
  • I am terrified of lizards, frogs, and toads.
  • I was always either a Teacher or a Doctor when my cousins and I played make-believe.
  • I love reading books: reference books like The World Book Encyclopedia and the Webster Dictionary and YA fiction books.
  • I believe I'm an ISFP.
okay it's 2:11am I should head to bed
