Small Town Idiots

Reading a novel about a girl who's starting to struggle with her faith. She's from a very churchy family, classic conservatives. You know, the anti-gay, anti-premarital sex, anti-abortion types. Every character I've read so far belongs to the same church, which I found very hard to picture. Though I must say that I'm reserving my judgment until I finish the book. I'm not sure what to feel about it at this stage. Crossing my fingers that it wouldn't be preachy. I mean, if I wanted to read scriptures and be enlightened and stuff I'd just pick up my mom's bible.
