My dad sent me a US Robotics Wireless MAXg ADSL2+ Gateway on August... and its now the end of October. I've been trying to set it up for months now, but until now I got no luck.
I don't know why I can't connect it to the internet, my Mac can recognize it, but the Network Preferences says that it's got a self-assigned IP (which basically means than I can't connect). I tried using it on the family desktop running on Windows XP but still I got the same problem.
I searched everything on the internet, read lots of forums, visited the US Robotics FAQ site, and I got nothing.
So I'm still stuck to our crappy ZyXel P-600 Series Modem (the one PLDT gave as a replacement to our beat-up old modem). Ugh.
And that also means I still can't get use wifi here in our home.
Ugh.

I haven't contacted PLDT by the way. I'm too lazy, and I hate PLDT's customer service.
